Mother’s Days
May is here, and Mother’s Day will be here soon. But why do mothers only get one day? Taking into account that they grew a child, and then birthed that child, wouldn’t it make sense that mothers deserve more than a day? Especially when society celebrates sinful life styles on a daily basis.

Truth is, no other person can have the bond with a child like the mother does. They spend the first nine months with you as you grow into their baby. Feeling the first movements, and feeling like their bladder has become an MMA training bag. Enduring morning sickness, legs swelling, and other changes to their bodies. John 16:21 says, “When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.”. The bond of motherhood is so strong that most kids feel the need for their mother’s tender comfort when they get hurt, or feel ill. God compares a mother’s comfort to His own in Isaiah 66:13, “As one whom his mother’s comforts, so I will comfort you.”.
God gave us with the ten commandments, and the fifth of which is “Honor thy father and mother.”. Showing your parents respect is the best way to do this. Listen when they talk, and do as they say. Mother’s have a lot to teach you. They were your age once, so listening to the lessons that they have learned the hard way can save you some trouble and heartache. Proverbs 31:26 tells us, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”.
No one person is perfect, and the same goes for mothers. While some women are better suited for motherhood than others, God blesses us with the mothers that we need to teach us lessons. The lessons that we need to walk God’s path. Every mother is if fact a blessing. If you feel like your mother is not, then remember Proverbs 1:8-9 tells us, “Do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head.”.

So, don’t just celebrate your mother for one day. We here at Created Outdoors suggest that you celebrate your mother every day. Celebrate that God has blessed you with the woman that endured the pain of pregnancy and child birth. Celebrate the blessings of the instruction, wisdom, and lessons from your mother. Celebrate the love, comfort, and tender care that she has provided you.
Until next time, hunt hard, and pray harder.
