Spring = Renewal

While the weather has been a bit unpredictable, we have entered into spring. Trees are starting to bud, daffodils are blooming, and the birds are performing their mating rituals. Solomon 2:11-12 says, “For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.”. Spring is here.
For those of us outdoor enthusiasts, this means that trout fishing is in, and turkey seasons are starting. Shed hunting can still be enjoyed as well. It is not uncommon to see a buck still holding a side going into turkey season. With the weather breaking, we all want to spend more time in the outdoors. Especially after being cooped up most of the winter. For those that work outside all year, God bless you! You are all looking forward to the weather changes the most.
We all have our own idea of what spring represents for us. As mentioned before, turkey season, fishing, migratory birds returning, and flowers blooming. The question is, what does spring represent to God our Farther? You see, after the resurrection there were more than 500 witnesses that seen Jesus. The spring acts as a renewal, or resurrection if you will. Plants that went dormant for the winter start to bud, bloom, and come back to life. The bears start waking from hibernation, with new cubs. Deer are giving birth to fawns, and birds are hatching eggs. New growth begins everywhere in the spring. Psalm 85:11-13 tells us, “Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.”.

For those of us here at Created Outdoors, this is an amazing time of year. While not everyone will get the opportunity to see the views in nature, we highly recommend that you make an attempt to get out there and see them. Seeing all of the spring beauty that God provides makes it quite difficult to deny his presence. If you slow down, take in the sights, the sounds, and the smells, you will feel His presence. This in its self will cause a rejuvenation in your spirit, your mind, and your life. Each day, and experience in God’s creation is a blessing. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Until next time, hunt hard, and pray harder.
